Law Office of James B. Ryan
The Law Office of James B. Ryan was formed by James Ryan in October 2011. Prior to forming The Law Office of James B. Ryan, Mr. Ryan was a partner at the national law firm of Gordon & Rees LLP (now known as Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, LLP), where he focused on commercial real estate transactions, and in particular, acquisitions and dispositions of developed and undeveloped real property, and leases of office and retail properties. Prior to Gordon & Rees LLP, Mr. Ryan practiced law at Duckor, Spradling & Metzger (now known as Duckor, Metzger & Wynne) in San Diego, CA, and McDermott, Will and Emery in Los Angeles, CA.
Mr. Ryan is currently a member of the California State Bar Association - Real Property Law Section, and the San Diego County Bar Association-Real Property Law Section and the Business & Corporate Law Section.
Education
Mr. Ryan earned his J.D. degree from UCLA School of Law in 1993. During law school, he was a member of the Moot Court Honors Program and received the Pro Bono Community Service Award.
Mr. Ryan earned a B.A. in Economics and Business from the University of California Los Angeles in 1990, graduating magna cum laude. While there, he was selected to Phi Beta Kappa, received the Academic Excellence Award in Economics, and was in the top five percent of his graduating class.
Community Involvement and Honors
Throughout his legal career, Mr. Ryan has been involved with his community and with the legal profession. Some of his more notable activities include:

For his work with the Rancho San Diego-Jamul community, Mr. Ryan was presented with both a United States Congressional Certificate of Recognition and a San Diego County Board of Supervisors Certificate of Recognition.
